M.Sc. Food Science Management & Dietetics

Eligibility: Candidates who have any degree preferably B.Sc N&D

  • The academic year is divided into two semesters and each semester consists of a minimum of 90 working days which shall comprise 450 teaching hours.
  • Fees will be collected at the beginning of each semester. Fees once paid will not be refunded. If a student fails to pay the fees on or before the due date she is liable to pay a fine of Rs.10/- per day.
  • Every student shall pay the semester fees due from her even if she discontinues before completing the semester. If a student leaves the college during the semester, she shall not have the right to claim a remission of any portion of the fees.
  • A fee will be charged for each typed copy of certificate. Semester fees shall be paid without fine within 10 working days. Absence from college with or without leave will not be considered as an excuse for late payment.
  • Those who are eligible shall apply for the following scholarships provided by government. SC/ST Scholarship and Minority Scholarship
  • If a scholarship holder leaves the college during the semester she will not get the scholarship even if the money is sanctioned, as it will be returned to the scholarship source.

AIMAN College of Arts & Science for Women is committed to maintain, endorse a culture of conduct that showcases excellence, intellectual openness, inclusiveness, justice, integrity, fairness, respect, equity and accountability. It expects students to uphold these standards in their day-to-day decisions, actions, and interactions. The code of conduct is necessary to mark the boundaries of this needed order. Students continue to be subject to the laws of the land while at the campus, and violations of those laws may also constitute violations of the code. Students are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct.

  1. Shall read, understand and comply with institutes policies and take responsibility for actions
  2. Shall abide by the institutions policy to value and support an institute community that is diverse in gender, caste, creed, religion, region, nationality, educational background, talent, skill, and experience.
  • Should come to the college neatly and decently dressed.
  • Gathering in groups at entrance, exit, pathways, staircases, gardens and gateway is strictly prohibited.
  • On entering the class, students will observe strict silence irrespective of the presence or absence of the teacher
  • Students will not be permitted to leave the class or laboratory without the permission of the teacher.
  • Students are expected to read the notice put up on the college notice board.
  • Ignorance of any notice thus displayed will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to comply with direction contained in it.
  • No Society, Association or Club shall be formed without the prior written permission of the Principal.
  • No student shall cause or put up any notice without the approval of the Principal.
  • Student shall not take law into their hands with the employees of the College. All complaints about them shall be made to the Principal and HODs.
  • No Student of one class shall enter any other class under any pretext.
  • No outsider can visit a student without the permission of the HOD or Principal.
  • In general, students are expected to bring good name and reputation to the College with their good behavior. Any student acting contrary to these rules will be dealt with seriously.
  • Mobile phones, laptops must be used only for the purpose of education.
  • Use of phones, cameras, etc…is prohibited during the class hours inside the campus. If found in contravention, they will be confiscated.
  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the library and during examination.
  • The students should not use mobile phones while attending meetings, workshops, functions and other activities of the College.
  • Laptops must be used as a tool for education. If used for any other purposes like watching movies, surfing social sites, immediate action will be taken.
  • Mobile phones must remain switched off inside the College premises. Mobile phones must not be charged inside the classrooms.
  • The following list gives examples of sort of materials or activities that will be regarded as unacceptable by the usage of laptops, mobile phones
  • Bullying/Harassment
  • Personal insults, attacks/abuse c) Games, entertainment
  • If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, the College will not be responsible.
  • Under disciplinary actions, the Principal is empowered to fine, suspend or even expel a student from the College in the interest of the institution.
  • The College lays a great emphasis on decent behavior from every student.
  • Any breach of this policy will be treated as a potential disciplinary issue and dealt with through our disciplinary procedure.

All the girls should wear saree or churidhar with lengthy tops below knee level without slit or Anarkali churidhar or churidhar with umbrella cut and dhupatta neatly pinned in ‘V’ shape. Coloring/bleaching the hair and Wearing leggins (Stretch pants), transparent or net dhupata is not permitted.

  • Students are expected to take proper care of the College property and help in keeping premises neat and clean. Disfiguring the walls and doors or breaking the furniture is a breach of discipline and will be severely punished.
  • The cost of any so caused will be recovered from the students collectively, if responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or individuals.
  • Students should not damage the college property. They should not scribble anything on the green board, table, furniture and walls. Action will be taken against the students who damage the property.
  • Cost of damage to property movable or immovable will be recovered from the students
  • Students are advised to switch off the fans and lights when they leave the class rooms.

Students should not come late to class. (Late comers should get permission slip from the Principal/HOD)

  • Students should apply for leave / on duty through proper permission from tutor, chairperson and HOD in prior.
  • They should not absent themselves without prior permission
  • Students are not permitted to sit inside the class room closing the door in the absence of the staff
  • Students should not shout, hoot or whistle during class hours and in College function. They should maintain strict discipline within the campus and students should occupy their allotted seats in college function
  • Chewing bubble gum, chocolate and any other eatable item inside the class room should be avoided.
Admission to Hostel
  • All applications for admission to the hostel shall be made to the Warden in the prescribed form.
  • Deserving students are selected for admission into hostel, subject to the availability of rooms. They shall vacate room at the end of the semester and seek fresh admission to the next semester
  • No reasons whatsoever need be given for rejection of any application.
  • Students shall follow all the rules given along with the application.
Fees
  • The selected student shall be admitted in the hostel only on payment of prescribed fees.
  • Room rent once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Mess and Mess Rules
  • The Mess will be run on dividing System
  • Food will be served in the mess only during the timing given below:
  • Morning Tea: 6.00 a.m to 7.00 a.m

    Breakfast: 7.30 a.m to 8.45 a.m

    Lunch: 1.00 p.m to 1.45 p.m

    Evening coffee / Tea: 4.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m

    Supper: 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm

  • Food should not be taken to rooms. Students should eat only in the Dining Hall
  • Only members of hostel committee are permitted to enter the kitchen and give instruction to cooks and servants; others are not permitted to do so, under any circumstance
  • Mess bill for the previous month shall be paid before 10th of every month. A fine of Re.1/. per day will be levied for any delay up to 25th of that month. Anyone who has not paid the dues on or before 25th of that month will be directed to vacate the Hostel
Study Hours
  • Hostel inmates are expected to devote their time from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and 9.00 pm to 10.00 p.m. to their private studies and as such strict silence should be maintained during the study time
  • At other times they shall conduct their activities but not to cause any inconvenience to their fellow students, who may be studying or otherwise engaged

"Ragging is any disorderly conduct, whether by words spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any student, indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities which cause or are likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or junior student and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the psyche of a fresher or a junior student".

  • Eve – teasing and ragging are strictly prohibited.
  • All students should produce their Identity Cards when ever asked for.
  • The Principal has the undisputed authority to penalize or dismiss or suspend any misbehaving student.
  • Group clashes, violence, assaults and indecent behaviour towards teacher and non – teaching staff are considered serious offences for which punishments like suspension or expulsion is effected.
  • Decision of the Principal is final with regard to interpreting offence and punishment.
  • The Principal may alter or amend the above rules or add further rules from time to time for smooth functioning of the college. The Principal’s interpretation of rules is final.
