The AIMAN Research and Development Cell, known as the ARDC, is a dedicated to foster collaboration across various departments with the aim of establishing a reputation for excellence in research providing faculty, students and researchers with required resources and expertise to initiate ground-breaking discoveries and breakthroughs.

ARDC Policies
The ARDC of the institution aims to create a robust framework that supports high-quality research, fosters innovation, and ensures ethical and effective research practices within the college. In order to address societal demands, ARDC intends to establish academic and research relationships with businessess and organizations
Objectives
- Offer early-career researchers and students’ mentorship and advice to foster an atmosphere for research and development by periodically arranging conferences, seminars, and workshops on research techniques
- To support collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects with other academic institutions, businesses, and research organizations
- Make it easier for research projects to obtain funding from both internal and external sources and offer support in grant writing and proposal preparation
- Encourage researchers to file for patents on their creations and offer assistance with the application procedure
- To set up Incubation centers to encourage novel concepts and start-ups
- To guarantee sustained cooperation with institutions by means of Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs)
AIMAN Research and Development Cell (ARDC)
AIMAN Research and Development Cell at AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women ensures the successful execution of the institution's research and development initiatives through organizing seminars, Expert Talks, publications, filing for patents, creating proposals for research projects, the cell hopes to foster an atmosphere and culture that are supportive to innovation and research. The committee members are appointed by the Principal, AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women based on their competencies and integrity. The committee organizes, encourages, and monitors the organization's research activities. The cell's composition is as follows:
- Chairperson: The Principal, AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women, acts as the Chairperson of the Committee and offers guidance and support
- Head & Coordinators: The Head and Coordinators, one from Arts and Science Discipline conducts and coordinates the activities of the cell
- Members: The cell comprises of members from various Streams
Duties of the R & D Cell:
- Ensure that all research activities comply with ethical standards and institutional policies. Establish and manage Ethics Committees to review and approve research proposals
- Foster a culture of research among faculty and students by providing encouragement, resources, and support. Organize workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance research skills and knowledge
- Identify Funding Opportunities from government bodies, private sector, and international organizations and assist faculty and students in writing and submitting research proposals
- Project Management and Facilitate collaborations with other academic institutions, industry partners, and research organizations for joint research projects
- Encourage and support faculty and students in publishing their research findings in reputed journals and conference
- Assist researchers in understanding and managing intellectual property rights (IPR) including patents, copyrights, and trademarks. Support the filing of patents and other IP-related activities
- Facilitate the transfer of research findings and innovations to industry or other sectors and support the establishment of startups and incubation centers to commercialize research outcomes
- Conduct outreach programs to engage with the local community and address societal challenges through research.Organize public lectures and forums to disseminate research findings to a broader audience
Code of Ethics for Research:
A Code of Ethics for Research outlines the principles and guidelines that researchers should follow to ensure integrity, accountability, and respect for all participants and stakeholders involved in research activities.By adhering to the rules and regulations of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli and University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding plagiarism and malpractice in research, researchers can ensure that their work upholds the highest standards of integrity, respect, and responsibility, contributing positively to the advancement of knowledge and the betterment of society.
Policies on Research Projects and Patents
- Encouraging faculty members to seek doctorates by providing monetary support and appropriate breaks
- Faculty members who conduct exceptional research articles that are published in reputable UGC CARE publications are given financial incentives
- Faculty publications and research papers need to be checked for plagiarism
- Faculty members are suggested to categorize interdisciplinary research in their domains.
- For projects that receive funding, the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator will be in charge of maintaining the equipment that was acquired and the stock registers pertaining to them
- All authorized funds must be utilized in compliance with the funding agency's policies
- It is required to maintain distinct stock registers for projects that receive external funding.
- Equipment purchases and the submission of audit reports must adhere to the guidelines of Finance committee
- For patents filed by faculty, 50% reimbursement will be given by the institution. For patent filed by the institution, the institution covers 100% of the expenses.
Attending Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Faculty Development Programs and Refresher Courses:
By participating in seminars, conferences, workshops, faculty development programs, and refresher courses, faculty members can significantly enhance their professional capabilities, contributing to their personal growth and the overall development of their academic institutions.
Faculty members of all departments are encouraged to attend Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Refresher Course, Workshops and Conferences to foster development in the learning platform.
Policies on Faculty Development Programs and Refresher Courses:
AIMAN college actively encourages and support faculty participation in these activities by:
- Providing Funding Offering financial support for registration fees, travel, and accommodation by reimbursing 50% of registration fee
- Allocating Time Allowing faculty time off from regular duties to attend these events by allowing them to apply for OD instead of Leave
- Recognition Recognizing and rewarding faculty participation and achievements in these activities.
